The Edwardian Yellow Chair
My passion for upholstery is in the journey. It can, but doesn’t have to be a long one - which I put my heart and soul into.
This beautiful, but quite angular Edwardian armchair needed a full restoration. The frame was very solid, but its seat springs had collapsed and it was full of decades of dirt and dust and damp where it had been in storage.
I used traditional methods and materials in order to be sympathetic to its history. This affects the finished look and feel of the seat and ensures its longevity for years to come.
With my guidance, the client chose a contemporary fabric with a linear pattern to show off the chairs' lines and curves.
The Hand Pleated Annexe Curtains
My client had recently had an outbuilding made into an annexe space for guests and needed a ceiling-to-floor solution for privacy and light in the bedroom area.
We chose a beautiful and practical bronze track solution from JSC which fixed directly to the ceiling and I made a hand-pleated headed, interlined and blackout-lined pair, of curtains. The headings were pleated to pattern to display the beautiful fabric.
It is these special touches that make my client's projects unique and something they can treasure for years to come.
